Do you take your body as well as your laptop to work?
Then The Posture Elf is the place for you!
We don’t often stop to think about how our workstations work for (or against) us – but our bodies really do notice.
Are you sitting comfortably?
Would you (or your team) love to wave a magic wand…
…and stop:
experiencing aches, pain and discomfort or a loss of productivity
paying regularly for treatments for the symptoms but not solving the underlying problem, because your body is telling you need to make changes but you don’t know what or how
worrying about people doing a DSE assessment in case they ask for expensive new chairs or equipment
feeling that your people don’t want to come into the office because they aren’t comfortable at their desk
being concerned about the negative health effects of our typically sedentary work and lifestyle
…and start:
experiencing comfort and productivity when you are working
feeling educated and connected to your what your body needs
developing body-friendly habits and behaviours
making better use of what equipment you already have
knowing your people feel truly valued
This isn’t a fairy story – this is the power of Positive Posture and it really is possible! Whether you’re an individual, a small or larger business, there are options to support you and your people.
Here is what some of my clients had to say about the benefits of their experiences:
What’s holding you back?
-
This support can benefit everyone, because typically we aren't very connected to or educated about our bodies. From small tweaks to big changes there really is something for everyone.
-
I know there is no ‘one-size fits all’ solution, so there is a range of options to suit from one individual to large companies.
-
Solutions are often low cost or free - making better use of what you already, or changing habits and behaviours. You may even save money on treatments for any aches and pains you are currently experiencing.
-
My advice will be as simple, pragmatic and easy to implement as possible. We all know that putting new things into action or changing unhelpful habits can be hard - that’s why my packages have ongoing support built-in.
-
Often it’s as much about HOW we sit as what we sit on. How do you know if you are investing in the right chair? Chair set-up is often a mystery, so all that lovely adjustability you have just paid for is wasted.
-
Positive Posture fulfils the legal requirements you have as an employer to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your workers who use computers – but it brings so many more benefits too.
If you have to make a case for bringing help into your business, see the Positive Power of Posture section below about the legal, moral, financial, productivity and engagement gains that can be made.
-
Enthusiasm and passion for posture and making a difference comes as standard. If you’d like to know if I am a good fit for you or your business, just book a no-obligation call with me.
Positive Power of Posture
We all spend hours interacting with our technology and the reality is that we rarely stop to think about the negative impacts of our posture and workstation setup util something starts to hurt.
FEEL BETTER, WORK BETTER
The way you sit at your desk can influence how you work. By getting a proper ergo assessment you can improve your comfort, which in turn increases productivity and has long term physical benefits.
21
HABITS CAN BE CHANGED
Research shows it takes a minimum of 21 days to embed a new habit and that can be hard to maintain on your own, so you have 21 days of support while you form new positive behaviour and posture habits.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Once you know how good posture helps you, this can be applied to other activities and knowledge can be shared with friends and family. This also helps you make the best of any workstation setup when agile or mobile working.
SAVE MONEY
Investing in ergo now can save you money on ongoing pain management, such as physio or massage. It also saves you the cost of purchasing equipment that may not even be suitable for your workstation setup.
IT’S THE LAW
Legal requirement specified in Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 that every employer should perform a suitable and sufficient risk analysis. It is unlikely that a self-assessment checklist alone would meet these criteria in a court of law.
